Around the Town

I used Krystal Harley and Jennifer Barrette's kit "In the Neighborhood" at FPD to make this layout of my kids with their costumes on.

Change is in the Air

Well the Fall weather here has been gorgeous but the leaves are blowing around outside and it looks like it's about to turn cold soon. I used the new November collab. kit from Faith Sisters coming out tomorrow Nov. 1st to make this "Winter Fun pail". Ton's of stuff on sale at FS some up to 50% off. so hop on over ther. I plan to use it for primary and put Styrofoam balls inside to look like snowballs and attach a song to each so when the kids pick one out that is the song we sing. (using Styrofoam balls was my son, Josh's idea- what a smarty!)

Some Autumn Fun

Well my kids are now off track (year round school) so I have no time to myself and have to think up things to keep them busy. So in the next few weeks there may be less scrapping/crafting and more running around finding fun things to do.
On Thursday my sister's and I took our kids to Gardner Village, which is a walk around shop area that is decorated with funny witches all over. It's a free event that is fun for kids as well as parents. Well with 4 moms and 16 kids it's not an easy task to herd them all around but we did it. Then we took them to Chick-Fil-A for lunch and then back to our house to run and play while we sat and talked a bit. On Friday the kids went with Dad to the Scarecrow festival were they got to do all sorts of bounce houses, games, making rockets and face painting. I got a day without kids to run some errands. Then we had a cousin Birthday/Halloween party so the kids got to get there costumes all ready. We had a Scream ghost guy, A surfer dude and Wendy from "Wendy's" fast food fame. We plan on going to the pumpkin patch this week to get our pumpkins for carving and then to a haunted house (they are getting brave). On Saturday we have a church Halloween party and the kids get to dress up and play games and get all sorts of treats. Then maybe next week we will take a trip to the zoo. Wow rereading that made me tired. I better get my energy up for the next 3 weeks to come.

Had to squeeze in a project

Well Krystal Hartley has a new kit called "Cherry Crush" and today at FPD it's only one dollar so race over and snag it before it goes to it's regular price. Here's the project I made with it. It's my Mom's birthday next week so I made this photo easel. Hopefully she doesn't decide to look at my blog and see her gift.

One of these things is not like the others.

Well I made this layout with a cute collaboration kit from Faith Sisters called "Dream a Little Dream". It's from Krystal Hartley, Amy Sumrall, Kreative Karma, Meredith Cardall, Ellie Lash and Sugarplum Paperie. The alpha is from Amy Sumrall "chipboard 3" at the TDC
I didn't realize how fat all my babies were until I put them up next to some of my sisters kids. Here is a layout with my kids compared to one of Sarah's little ones.

Is that Gas I Smell?

Well today was my very first day as a substitute teacher and it started off with a bang- well not quite! I got there and was waiting in the office when the principle came out and made an announcement that there was a gas leak in the school and we needed to evacuate. We had to go out with all the students and go far out onto the lawn area. The tempurature was around 40 or so degrees and some of the kids didn't even bring jackets. Well it got a little cold to say the least. We were out there for over a half an hour. Finally after the fire dept came and checked it out we were allowed in. I was teaching 6th grade and the kids were great. I was a little nervous and felt like I had no clue what I was doing (but of course the kids didn't know that). But overall it was a good first day. Wish me luck for next Tuesday's 4th grade class.

"Call Me"

Well today I am offically a substitute teacher. I actually got a call this morning at 7 AM but I couldn't start because my orientation was today. Well I already got online and got two jobs lined up. I start tomorrow and next Tues. I have another assignment. A little nerve racking for the first couple of jobs and then I'm sure I'll get into the groove.
I also have been making things for Halloween. I made these cute tags with the new kit "Lil Stinker" from Krystal Hartley at FPD and today only the kit is ONE DOLLAR after that is will go to it's regular price.

My Lovey Little Kids

I have had these pictures printed out for about a month and I had the paper mache wall hanging too and I just waited for the right kit to put on it. Well I found it in Krystal Hartley's new kit "Greatest of These" at Faith Sisters.
The pictures are of my kids all at about age 2. Soooooo cute. I painted the wall hanging black and then used a bunch of Krystal's paper and elements to make it cute. I Mod Podged the pictures and the Love tag on. I Mod Podged the Love title and the flowers separately so I could make them dimensional on the project. I put foam squares under the Love title and I used glue dots and foam squares under the flowers. I also added some red buttons for centers on the flowers-I also curled the flower petals a little. I replaced the tan cord for a black ribbon for hanging it on the wall.

Witchy Poo

Well I made these cute little witch hats to use in primary (the class that sings the best will get to have their teacher wear one of the witchy hats). I used some digital paper and buckle from Meredith Cardall to make it. The hats are paper mache and I just painted them purple and Mod Podged it on and added orange ribbon. Fairly easy just had to be patient enough to let the paint and Mod Podge dry.

Halloween Countdown

Well I got crazy again and saw this craft project on Good Things Utah and had to try it. It's originally from Imaginisce but I didn't use all their products for mine. But if you want to make one the instructions are on the website at http://www.imaginisce.com/ You start with just plain cardboard and then distresses it by ripping and inking. Then I used regular orange cardstock, orange patterned paper by Basic Grey, and checkerboard paper by Making Memories. I used my Cricut cutting machine to make the title and the numbers. I then used some Imaginisce rub ons and chipboard embellishments for the number squares (I did have to go by a 2 inch square punch since the largest I had was 1 1/4 inch). I also used MM embellies, like the sparkly tree, stars and bats. The envelope on the right is just a regular office envelope covered with cute paper and ribbons. I then used black star eyelets and tied with twine to hold it together. I did laminate the squares and put the sticky back Velcro dots on. Then I just put all the squares in the envelope and each day one of my kids can take out the correct number and add it to the board. The great thing is that after the month is over I can just fold it up and put it away.

Blossoming

Well I made this layout with the new kit from Amy Sumrall "Orchard Blossoms" http://www.thedigichick.com/shop/manufacturers.php?manufacturerid=70&catid=273&dsefu=off

I actually came up with the name. I'm so honored.

I used all her papers and elements. The red alpha is a freebie off her blog. The white alpha is FJardine's "Missy Betty" the font is OxHandicraft BT. I told Sydney she looks like a Bratz doll with those big red waxy lips.

A bunch of projects

I created this layout of Nick and the little leaf collection box with the kit from Amy Sumrall "Retrofittled Fall"

I made an idea book for my Faith Sisters CT with the new collab kit called "Autumn Harvest"
I made this notebook with Amy Sumrall's kit "Summeroo"

And these cards were done with a charity kit at Faith Sistered called "Sisterly Love"
