Well yes I am still in recovery from my scrapbooking weekend. I was up until about 4 AM on Friday night and got home at about 1 AM on Sat. night. I felt OK on Sunday but when I got up on Monday to get the kids to school I felt terrible. I had a full day of laundry and felt like taking a nap but was afraid I wouldn't wake up to get to my son's special day at school. He's "Person of the Week" His poster looked good, we talked all about his favorite things and handed out some treats. All went well.
And by the way I beat my record of 50 pages and did 67 pages. WOOO HOOO. Granted I didn't bring embellishments with me- just the kits -so I will still need to add some embellies, a few titles and journaling. But I did a whole years worth for my son Nick. I'm actually up to 2007 for him now. Sorry no pics today as I still have much to do to get the house back in order-Love my husband but keeping the house in order is not his forte. (we have dishes stacked to the ceiling)
I have all these great projects in my head to make I just don't know if I'll have time to do them this week.
Oh, and as a side note. Last week I did (after the 44 bottles of peaches) 25 bottles of cooked peach jam, 15 containers of frozen jam but I still didn't make a peach pie yet. I have just enough peaches left in the fridge for that. I'm done with peaches -YEAH!!!!

Retreat
Well I'm going on a scrapbook weekend retreat with some friends so I will be MIA for a while. I haven't even started getting my stuff together so that's what I'll be doing all day- as well as running DVD's back to the library, finishing my sons school poster, getting in a last minute grocery store run and gassing up the car(that one really hurts $$$$) Have a great weekend!

Millions of Peaches, Peaches for Me. Millions of Peaches, Peaches for Free
"Movin to the country gonna eat a lot of peaches...." When I think of peaches that song always comes to mind. Well ladies and gentlemen I am still not done with peaches. I bottled 44 quarts of peaches and I still have 2 boxes (albeit small boxes) of peaches left. My dilemma is do I go buy more bottles and keep bottling or do I start making some jam. I don't think I really want to make jam-I've never done the cooked kind just the easy frozen kind. I just don't want any of it to go to waste. I then told my daughter that I would make some peach pies(I actually love making pies) and she is very anxious for peach pie so I better have that done before they get home from school or she'll be asking "Did you make any peach pie?" again.

New Calling
Well this week I got called to be the Primary Chorister in our ward. (for non LDS speaking people- that means I will be teaching the little kids all the church songs on Sundays) The crazy part is that we have a program in Nov. and I don't even know some of the songs-OH NO! Well I'm sure it will be fine (cringing) I don't actually read music, even though I have been in choirs since 7th grade and I actually played the cello and clarinet in elementary school. I must have been able to read music but forgot- I don't know-weird!
Well now my task at hand is to bottle peaches that are overrunning my kitchen, I have 40 something bottles but I'm afraid I might need more. Peaches aren't hard to do they are just messy and sticky. So I better get off the computer and go put on my grubby clothes and get to it. But playing on the computer is so much more fun- OK - I'm getting off.

California Girls Purse Collection
Well yesterday I made a cute collection of purse boxes. The plain white box is from Creative Imaginations and then I used the awesome new kit collection from Krystal Hartley and Libby Weifenbach called "California Girls" available at SSD and FPD tomorrow. It's actually 5 different kits and they are all fabulous. I decorated each purse from a different kit. I printed them out and adhered to the box, added some ribbon for the handle and ink or chalked the edges. I also used the round Velcro self stick dots to keep them closed. These were soooo easy even though the look hard.

No more tomatoes.
Well yesterday I got to go pick some tomatoes for free so I got a lot. Well after bottling 36 quarts I am done looking at tomatoes- add that to the 8 bottles a few days before that and I think my food storage is full. I actually had about a box and a half left and passed them out to neighbors. Now I have to go pick peaches this week at my MIL house and then bottle those too. I'll be happy when the harvest is over.
Amy Sumrall's Creative Team
Well I'm so excited to be asked by Amy to be on her creative team. I get to make some hybrid project with her designs. Check out her blog and go see all her great work. YEAH!!!!

New Shoes
Well I have been eyeing these cute pink Converse shoes at Target but they just wouldn't go on sale. They even put them on an end cap after months of being in the store, but they still didn't go on sale. Finally this week they went on clearance and I grabbed the pair made just for me. AAAHHH my new pink shoes. Now I have to try and keep them clean.

My freind Krystal Hartley shared this website with her design team and boy will you get a kick out of it. You can put yourself into a yearbook picture from the 50's to the year 2000. Here's my fabulous photo from 1978. Do you DIG IT MAN?

Tomatoes
Well I have been bottling tomatoes today. I have some plants in my garden but they are not going to be enough to fill my food storage. I did 8 bottles today but I'll have to get some more. I use bottled tomatoes to make my own spaghetti/meat sauces so I use them quite a bit. Helps my family to eat more veggies (me especially since I hate regular tomatoes) and saves on money too.
I have been doing some digital scrapbooking in the last couple of days but I can't post them until they are released next week- So be on the lookout.

Fab Poster
Well I am on the Enrichment committee (women's church group) and we are having a fun craft night in Oct. So I get the job of making the posters with all of my beautiful digi designs. I chose the new kit from Krystal Hartley and Zoe Pearn "Fall Splendour" at SSD. I got the posters printed at Costco in a big 12X18 size. I'm really digging this kit and it fits so nice with the season. The yellows also match my kitchen so nicely so I may have to make something for my kitchen soon.
I also got some of my digi layouts printed for the very first time. WOW! I love how they turned out. I put them up in the scrapbook frames I have on the wall in my great room.
LOVE IT!

Ready for Fall
Well today is was a glorious cool day in the 70's. I am excited for autumn to come soon- it's my favorite season of the year. I made zucchini bread, picked tomatoes out of my garden and enjoyed my kids and their after school snack (zucchini bread of course). I wish for a bunch of days just like this one.
