Journey through Thick & Thin

Here's a tutorial of my weight loss journal/notebook.
I have this composition notebook that have have recorded my weight and measurements for a lot of years and decided I needed it to be a little nicer since I use it every week.
So I used the digital designs by Meredith Cardall. I used her kit "Things my Mom taught me" It's a very versatile kit. Go HERE is your interested in it.

I created the front and back covers and then I created a page with tabs for the years and I also used the cute dot flairs so I could decorate some paperclips and make them fancy. I also made word strips that would go on top of the word strips that are on the front page. Giving it a more 3D effect. And I used some of her decorative papers to cover the inside pages and make pockets. I printed on photo paper.
I used a circle punch to cut out the round elements and then cut out the rest and used ink to give them definition.
I used glue dots to adhere the circle elements together on the top of the paperclip. The solid ones had different sayings on each side.
I then cut all the papers to fit the notebook and used solvent ink(StaysOn ink) for the edges because it won't rub off like regular ink on photo paper. I used Mod Podge to adhere it to the book. I then used adhesive and staples to put on the date markers on the sides of the pages. I put the paper clips in random places and then tied some red ribbon on the front of the spine.
On the insides I made pockets to hold other papers.
And the back of the book I used the saying- (now in your best Rob Schneider voice, from Water boy)
"You can do it!" on the back with the little flair that says."You did it"
So if you are working on keeping fit. This is a great way to track your progress. If you keep weekly stats you are more likely to stay on track throughout the year.
It worked for me!
