I'm Baaaack!

Well the weekend was tiring to say the least. I helped my BIL pack up the U Haul /my sister and I cleaned the house and did touch up paint and the we had a yard sale for the leftover junk. They had a few young strong men come help with the big furniture. Then we drove for 9-10 hours (including potty breaks and food stops) and finally made it back to Salt Lake. I am exhausted and would love to take a nap or two, but I have to get laundry done and my son's kindergarten teacher just called and they need some more helpers for their last day (Water Day) so I'll be heading over to school in a couple of hours. NO REST FOR THE WEARY! I took my camera but didn't take pics of anything not even my sister new baby. Shame on me- what a slacker.
Can't wait to see what Krystal Hartley has for me as one of the new guests for her creative team. I start tomorrow. Yeah!

Leaving on a Jet Plane

Well I will be MIA for awhile. I am flying to my sisters outside of Reno to help her and her family get packed up and moved back here to Utah. She just had a baby (ceaserian) last Wednesday and really can't do much but take care of her little baby. So my sister April and I are flying out to help. We won't be driving back until Sunday so I will be without a computer for 3 whole days. I think I am going to have withdrawls. My sweet husband will be taking on the adventure of keeping the house and three kids running on schedule (kids have 2 1/2 more days of school) So today will be a mad rush to get everything ready before I leave. I'll have to catch up on all my blogging friends when I get back. Have a Great Weekend!

I've been Invited.

I'm so excited to be a part of Krystal Hartley's creative team as a guest in July. I've been invited to be a hybrid artist for her designs. Check out her blog at http://krystalhartley.blogspot.com/

Pool Fun

Well I got our pool up last week. Finally the weather is just right (in the high 90's and will be 100 by next monday) So my kids have been living in the pool with all of their friends in tow. I even saw some friends who rarely come around in our backyard. To explain one thing on the layout. Sydney has another cute friend named Sydney (blonde). So I just put Sydney X2.
Credits
Martin Bennett "BeachyKeen" used for paper and elements. The frame is a freebie from Ziggle Disigns. and the black glitter alpha and star are from Sabry Card. I used brush Script MT for the font.

Hybrid "My Stuff" tin

I made this tin with Krystal Hartley's Energetic digital kit. I printed out the yellow checked paper on regular copy paper. Then all the elements I printed on photo paper to make them a little thicker and so they would be a little shiny. I used foam squares on the sun and the My Stuff element to add dimension. I also used some solid and checkered ribbon from my stash. I punched holes in the white circles and threaded yellow ribbon through to make a border. Planning it took about 15-20 minutes but it only took about 5 to put it all together.

Faces of the Past

I started messing around with this new free download "Photscape" my niece Nichole told me about. I wanted to make some cute photo collages so I tried it out. So easy. (I just bought Photo Shop Elements last month and still don't have a clue how to start a scrapbook page on it. I need a one on one class I guess.) Well I created this collage and used a lot of old photos so I decided to make a layout with it. Here it is. LIKE or NO?

KH new kit

Well I decided to get to it and try out Krystal Hartley's new kit "Energetic" I wanted to try and just use what came in the kit (one thing I hardly ever do) I did end up adding the ROCK and the red stitching from two other KH kits and the frames I got free from Welli Designs(thanks Rach), but everything else was from one kit. Lots of possibilities. The font was LB Typewriter.
Don't you just love this adorable and funny picture of two of my younger sisters: Amy and Nellie.
Then this one I used the same kit to make a totally different whimsical look. I used KH "Little Black Alpha" The only extra is the frames again from Welli Designs. And I used LB Typewriter again.

School Friends mini book

I made this mini album for my daughters friend who has a birthday on Sat. I will make one just like it for Sydney too. I used a premade template using the kit "Girls Rule, Boys Drool" from Lauren Grier, MandaBean and Shawna Clingerman. I also used some apoxy buttons and tages from Making Memories. I uses all sorts of ribbon and inked the edges. This was the first time I used Mod Podge on top of photo paper and I'm not sure it I just wasn't patient enough to wait for it to dry or if I put too much of the Podge on it but the front page is a little crackley. Sydney says she likes it that way - Good thing because I'm not redoing it now.

4th Grade Fun

I did a page of my daughter and all her friends. I used a digi kit from the Sweet Shoppe. "Girls Rule, Boys Drool" by Lauren Grier, MandaBean and Shawn Clingerman. The little black Alpha is from Krystal Hartley and the font is Girls are Weird.
I'm working on a chipboard hybrid book with a template from this same kit. It's for Sydney's friend Taylor. I'll post when finished.

Crafty Weekend X10

Well I started cleaning my craft room for my crop on Friday night and got going on so many projects I couldn't stop. I made this cork board gift for my Dad from my kids for Father's Day.
I got the board from Target when it was clearanced about a year or so ago ($2 or something)
It says "Memories for Grand PA! I used MM metal accents and ribbon along with some Basic Grey monogram letters. Can't remember where I got the chipboard little letters or birdie. I hooked a little MM green clip on the middle so he can change the photos on the board and the other pics are just up with push pins.
I also made 2 fathers day cards and a card to match the B-day gift below but didn't take pictures of them. But I only got a 2 page layout done for the scrapbooking end of things. I'll have to work on that later.
I decorated these wooden letters for Josh's room. Krystal Hartley has a challenge on Sweet Shoppe so I decide to get his done. I used the digi kit "Mischief and Mayhem" by Heather Roselli at the Sweet Shoppe. I printed out the angel stripe printed paper along with her solid colors -red, blue, yellow and green. I used thin strips of the solid paper and mod podged it to the side of the letters and then mod podged the striped to the front. I used the digi page pebbles and put them on tiny circle tags. I also use the digi tags to hang from the ribbon(American Craft-summer), buttons I think are MM and I used TLC rub on words.
closer view of each letter

I printed out a copy of the cute digi page and made a wall hanging so Nick could give it to Hunter as a gift. Then he signed it with his cute little handwriting.

I made up a bunch of cute Popsicle cards. I got the idea off of 2peas site. Easy to make. I wish I had a summer party that needed invitations. I used my Cricut- Doodlecharms, Prima flowers, brads from MM and doodlebug ribbon. And since every rub on comes with a Popsicle stick I have millions to use.

Here's a gift I made for my friend Amy. I found this cute tin at Target for around $6. It has compartments and is made to hold utensils but would be great to hold scrapbook supplies too.
Too lazy to go downstairs and look where I got the paper and elements.

Zoo PIcs

Here's a layout of Nick at the Zoo. I'm usually not a fan of the whole look of blank space on a layout but I think this works OK.
I used Martin Bennett digi kit called "Safari"
And the doodle borders around the squares are from Krystal Hartley's "Spring Fever Doodles"

Teacher Pics

I took this picture yesterday of Josh with his 2nd grade teacher.
I used the kit 'Squiggle It' kit by Christy Lyle and Robin Carlton.
I decided to do more digi creating and less downloading.

Hybrid flower tag

I made some flower/ tags that I am preparing to take to the ladies I visiting teach this month. I used TLC LifeTimez digital purple paper(Happiness Is) and bug tracks(Art Garden bugs) and then used Krystal Hartley's adorable flower with dot overlay, cute yellow flower border (Spring Fever doodles) and green and black embellishment(Gladness). You can access her designs through her blog listed at the left or she has her designs at Polka Dot Potato and Faith Sisters. Her designs are so fun to use I highly recommend them if you are into digital scrapbooking. I have to admit that sometimes I just don't have the energy to go back and credit all the designers I use so if I've missed some in the past I am sorry. I'll try to do better. I also used CK Twilight for the font (my fav) I then printed it out on photo paper and mounted on black cardstock rounding one corner. I added a flower die cut from my Cricut, yellow brad, then tied with green and purple ribbon.

Cute Kindergarteners

I helped on the field trip to the zoo. Keeping track of a bunch of 5-6 yr olds was no easy task. Here is an adorable photo of Nick and his best friend Hunter.

Best Friend Scrapbook

Sydney and I decided to pull together a scrapbook for her best friend Emma. I found out that her birhday was on Saturday so I needed to get it done fast. I used a few Artist Choice pages (I had them already made) I think that's the fastest I've ever done an album. I guess I work well under pressure. I should try that with my own scrapbooking and maybe I would get more done.
Sydney can't wait to see Emma face when she opens her gift. If you want to take a closer look at the pages just click on top of the slideshow picture.

Teachers Gifts

Well I have been doing a bit of paper crafting in the last couple of weeks. I made some explosion boxes as gifts for my three kids teachers (this idea I copied from my friend Kylee Jensen). We have year round school so we don't get out until the first of July. I copied each of their school pictures and cut out each of the students and decorated the inside with them. I will fill the box with candies too. Then they will have a unique reminder of that class. I have also been frantically making a scrapbook for my daughters best friend who's birthday is this coming Sat. Well I started yesterday and I've got about 17 pages done,so I still have a bit of work to do. I will post when I am finished.
