Makin a Float!

Well I have been getting crazy this week trying to get my part done for the parade float that I am helping with. Here in Utah, July 24th is our state holiday and we go all out to say the least. It's called Pioneer Day because we celebrate when the Mormon pioneers came into the Salt Lake Valley. There is a huge parade(one of the top 4-5 in the country) I was asked to make the signs for the sides of the float. Mind you I hadn't even seen the float when I began but it all worked out just right with a few minor adjustment(me resewing the fabric for the sign and reinforceing the grommets that ended up only being there for show) Oh well- It looks good and that's what counts. I've been glueing glittered letters to the fabric for two days now and I have glitter in my hair, all over my skin everywhere, on my clothes and tracked in my house and it's actually embedded in my stearing wheel of my car. Here are a few pics of the process. I don't have pictures of the finished float yet but I will take some next week when the float is taken to the hall before the parade.

Ok...I have questions:
1. Did you make those glitter letters/animals?
2. If not, where did you get them?
3. Who pays for this stuff?

The reason I am asking is because we have our 175 Birthday for our city in Sept. and I wanna do a float for our Parent Group. But I need to know where to get things! LOL

I didn't make them I just put them on. But I do know that the animals were all carved out of big blocks of styrofoam and then painted and glittered. A lot of the flowers and leaves, etc are made of thin foamy stuff that is almost like a fabric. I'm not sure if the letters came cut out or not. I was just a laboror and not a designer (except for the sign with the bamboo and rope on the sides). If you want some specifics I could find out for you. And I think since it's a church thing that essentially we as church members pay for it.
